JonVieve Hill defends and counsels companies across industries in all types of employment and traditional labor law matters. She has a record of successfully litigating cases in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in private arbitration and before administrative agencies.
Class and Collective Action
JonVieve’s practice focuses on the defense of class, collective, and complex employee pay, overtime, and hours-related lawsuits involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and related state law claims filed in jurisdictions across the country. She also specializes in defending employers in multi-plaintiff consumer litigation lawsuits involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and related consumer protection statutes. JonVieve is a strategic thinker who enjoys devising outside-the-box solutions to complex litigation matters. Her recent class and collective experience includes:
- Representation of employer in class action involving claims of FCRA violations on behalf of approximately 3,500 putative class members;
- Representation of professional employer organization in class action involving alleged violations of the FCRA on behalf of more than 300 employees;
- Representation of employer in multi-state FLSA and state law class and collective action alleging off-the-clock work and overtime violations on behalf of more than 1,500 opt-in employees; and
- Representation of employer in collective action involving claims of misclassification under the FLSA on behalf of more than 150 employees.
Employment Litigation
JonVieve routinely defends employers across industries in lawsuits and administrative matters involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment that arise under state and federal statutes. She is committed to resolving claims in a prompt, cost-effective manner and has helped to obtain numerous pre-trial dismissals on behalf of her clients.
Traditional Labor
JonVieve represents employers in traditional labor matters including defending against unfair labor practice charges and navigating grievances and arbitrations.
Counseling
Prior to attending law school, JonVieve earned her master’s in business administration. She regularly utilizes her business knowledge and experiences, in addition to her legal expertise, to help clients implement practical solutions that minimize legal risks while keeping in mind the company’s business, operational considerations, and corporate culture. To that end, JonVieve drafts employee handbooks, arbitration agreements, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. She also conducts employment and wage-hour assessments for clients to ensure that they continue to comply with changing laws and regulations.
