News

11.29.22

In an interview with Law360, Hagood Tighe shares his insights on potential wage and hour violations when conducting layoffs and reminds employers that employees cannot volunteer their time. When discussing pay out of PTO, Hagood explains that in the age of remote work, employers need to be aware of varying requirements across jurisdictions. "If we've got employees that are working from home or working from some other remote location in other parts of the country, then the law where they're based is going to be also applicable," said Hagood. He then proceeds to urge employers to be aware of the penalties for noncompliant schedule changes and volunteer work.
