Fisher Phillips Wins South Carolina Hospitality Association Supplier of the Year Award
COLUMBIA, SC (February 20, 2009) - The South Carolina office of Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm, has won the South Carolina Hospitality Association's Supplier of the Year Award.
"No other law firm has ever received this award," said Tom Sponseller, executive director of the S.C. Hospitality Association. "Fisher Phillips has been an exceptional resource for educating our membership about immigration and labor law changes."
The Supplier of the Year Award will be presented Monday at the S.C. Hospitality Association's Stars of Industry Awards, a series of awards that have been given by the association for over 50 years. Many of the members who voted for Fisher Phillips cited a useful labor law compliance guide the firm provided to members in 2008. The Employment Compliance Guide for South Carolina Hospitality Employers provides an overview of South Carolina laws pertinent to the hospitality industry and state compliant employee forms.
"We're honored to receive the award," said Jonathan P. Pearson, managing partner of the Columbia office. "Labor laws relevant to the hospitality industry in South Carolina are frequently changing, and Fisher Phillips likes to help educate businesses as often as we can."
Hagood Tighe of the Columbia office, and Andria Ryan of the Atlanta office and Chair of the Hospitality Industry Business Practice Group, worked on the compliance guide that won the award.
