Many companies have turned to their employment lawyers to understand their legal duties to notify workers about mass layoffs now that the novel coronavirus has forced them to drastically reduce business or shutdown entirely. Bloomberg Law spoke with Hagood Tighe, co-chair of Fisher Phillips’ Wage and Hour practice, and David Kresser, co-chair of the firm’s Manufacturing Industry Team, on what employers need to know about navigating reductions in force.
