The Paper Trailhead: Creating and Implementing Effective HR Policies
Up-to-date, well written HR policies are an important tool to communicate expectations, guide decision making, avoid disputes, and defend against claims. By the same token, out-of-date, poorly written policies can cause confusion and disagreements, even litigation. In this briefing, we will review important considerations that you should take into account when creating, updating and implementing employee handbooks and other personnel policies. Attendees will learn:
- How to draft and implement the most important and needed policies;
- Which policies cause the biggest headaches and how to fix them; and
- How to determine when policies require revision.
