How Would This Look in Court?

This fun and interactive session uses video vignettes of real issues to reinforce how to handle employment problems properly. Through the use of video, we will walk through an employee complaint and the resulting investigation. You will feel the pain of an HR manager who comes under fire during a deposition after a complaint he handled results in a lawsuit. The withering interview reveals several mistakes the HR professional made at various stages of his investigation.

How Do I Handle This Problem!

This session will be participatory. Attendees will break into groups that will be presented with HR-related issues that they will need to address. This includes dealing face-to-face with problematic employees. While the real-world situation is not fun, in this environment you can enjoy honing your HR skills with your colleagues.

How To Deal With Not So "Free Speech" in the Workplace

What can you say? What can you not say? Stay on top of the rights and responsibilities that employees and employers have with respect to speech in the workplace. This is a particularly important topic with an election just around the corner.
