One of the most confusing areas regarding leave of absence laws relates to pregnancy-related disabilities. Among other things, employers must be aware of the interrelationship of the Family and Medical Leave Act, the California Family Rights Act and pregnancy-disability leave rights provided by the Fair Employment and Housing Act. This briefing provides an overview of the laws regarding pregnancy-related disabilities and provides employers with practical guidance for compliance with these laws.
