Now is Not the Time for Cruise Control; Litigation Could Arise

Publication

5.12.21

In a bylined article published in LegalNews.com, Stephen Scott discusses how important it is for employers to remain vigilant and continue implementing workplace safety measures to help protect their workforce from COVID-19. Despite positive signs that the worst of the pandemic is over, Stephen cautions that relaxing workplace safety measures too early could invite a knock on the door from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). He also warns employers that relaxing workplace safety measures could also invite litigation from employees. Stephen stresses that now is not the time to let off the gas and become complacent because the risk of litigation is too great. His take home message is that employers should “remain steadfast and diligent in enforcing, maintaining and maximizing workplace safety.”
