Four Attorneys Named to 2015 Legal Elite of the Midlands

COLUMBIA, SC (October 27, 2015) – Four Fisher Phillips attorneys from the firm’s Columbia, S.C. office have been named to Columbia Business Monthly’s 2015 Legal Elites of the Midlands.
The Fisher Phillips attorneys honored for their work in labor and employment law include Stephen C. Mitchell, managing partner of the Columbia office, C.F.W. Manning II, J. Hagood Tighe and Reyburn W. Lominack III, who received the most votes in the category.
Since 2010, Columbia Business Monthly has honored Columbia-area attorneys by publishing their Legal Elite feature. Winning attorneys are chosen by area peers. Legal Elite is the only award program in the region that gives every active attorney the opportunity to participate. While attorneys are allowed to nominate members of their own firm, for each in-firm nomination, there had to be an out-of-firm nomination. Attorneys were not allowed to vote for themselves.
Mitchell has a national practice that emphasizes employment litigation as well as traditional labor law. He has also assisted employers in handling class action litigation. He is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Employment and Labor Law. Additionally, he is "AV" Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and he has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2010. Mitchell has been listed in Chambers USA since 2007 and included in South Carolina Super Lawyers since 2009.
Manning has extensive experience litigating employment law matters involving civil rights, contracts, and wrongful termination claims. He regularly provides advice and assistance to employers regarding the drafting and enforcement of restrictive covenants, employment contracts and corrective action. He is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Employment and Labor Law, and is "AV" Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and been listed in Chambers USA, America's Leading Business Lawyers since 2013.
Tighe practices exclusively in the area of labor and employment law, representing management in traditional labor matters and employment litigation, he has successfully run many union avoidance campaigns, tried labor arbitrations, and litigated unfair labor practices before the National Labor Relations Board. Additionally, he has authored numerous articles in the area of employment law, regularly lectures at seminars regarding employment law and is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Employment and Labor Law. This is his sixth year in Columbia Business Monthly’s Legal Elite.
Lominack is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Employment and Labor Law. He represents employers of all sizes in state and federal trial and appellate courts, as well as administrative tribunals. Additionally, Lominack assists employers with traditional labor matters, including union avoidance campaigns, unfair labor practice charges, grievance arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
