DENVER (October 19, 2020) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, announces the addition of Ronald Pierce as Of Counsel in the firm’s Denver office. Ron will establish Fisher Phillips’ local presence in the benefits space as the first dedicated member of the Employee Benefits Practice Group to be based out of the firm’s Denver office.
Most recently, Ron worked for a professional employer organization providing full-service human resource solutions to small and midsize businesses. He served as Managing Counsel and led the company’s thirteen benefits compliance professionals responsible for benefits offered to over 300,000 worksite employees. Ron will translate his experience to Fisher Phillips where he will serve as one of the firm’s go-to resources on benefits-related compliance issues with a focus on ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA and DOL audits.
Ron has more than 20 years of experience helping businesses alleviate a variety of concerns, including equity management, executive compensation, severance pay, retirement benefits, health plan issues, contract negotiation and business regulatory compliance. Ron spent over a decade in-house at a global financial technology company where he served as Senior Counsel of the Global Employment and Benefits Group. In that capacity, Ron consulted on the benefits implications of mergers and acquisitions and also served as primary counsel for ERISA fiduciary committees.
Ron is arriving on the heels of the firm’s move to new office space in the heart of the City’s Central Business District located at 1125 17th St. The new space provides double the square footage to accommodate the growth that the Denver office has been experiencing in recent months, and Ron’s arrival raises the lawyer count to 23.
“Being able to welcome talent like Ron is a strategic move to better to serve clients,” said Michael Greco, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips’ Denver office. “Having him as a dedicated employee benefits lawyer on the ground with us here in Denver provides a valuable skillset not only for local employers but also those across the firm’s national platform.”
Ron is frequently asked to speak to various groups and professional associations on a variety of employment law topics and workplace concerns. He earned his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law where he was the Business Editor of Pepperdine Law Review. Ron also holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
