Fisher Phillips Breakfast Briefing In San Diego - The New California Sick Leave and How to Cure Legal Issues that Arise From Flu Season
Event
11.20.14
Join us every Third Thursday for breakfast and a discussion on hot HR topics. This complimentary event is a great opportunity to network and talk with other HR professionals and our lawyers in an informal and collaborative setting to get the information you need to stay in the know.
California recently passed a sick leave law that requires employers to provide employees with three paid sick days per year starting in July 2015, with very few exceptions. Even employers with existing sick leave or PTO benefits may have to made adjustments, and employers should start planning now for these changes. In this seminar, we will explain the requirements under the new law and provide tips on how to change your policies to comply. Additionally, we will cover how to inoculate your company against common legal issues that arise out of the seasonal flu and cold season, such as employees who come to work ill and the implications of disability and leave laws when it’s just a cold.
