Complying with California’s AB 685 Obligations Will Be Difficult for Employers

In his recent article for the Daily Journal, Colin Calvert explains why the requirements in AB 685, which expand the obligations of California employers to disclose information regarding COVID-19 exposure in the workplace, will be burdensome for employers. Effective Jan. 1, 2021, employer will have just a single business day to provide certain employees with notice of a potential exposure to COVID-19. Colin suggests that employer start planning today by preparing form notices that can quickly and accurately be completed and distributed. He also advises employers to have good protocols in place that help prevent workplace exposures.
