Summer Associates

Our summer associate program is offered in select offices based on business needs and practice demand. Participating offices and open positions are posted on our Join Us page each recruiting season. Click here to view current openings and important dates.

Our interview process typically includes an initial On-Campus Interview (OCI) event (click here for schedule and details), followed by a callback interview that may take place virtually or in person. Interviews are structured, practical, and focused on understanding your interests, experience, and approach to problem-solving.

Candidates should apply through our online application system or directly with their school if we are participating at OCI, or when positions are posted. We review applications on a rolling basis and encourage early submission.

We look for candidates with strong academic credentials, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in labor and employment law. Equally important are professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively.

Summer splits may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on office needs and timing. Candidates should raise this early in the process.

The program typically runs for approximately ten weeks, though timing may vary by office.

Summer associates receive substantive legal work similar to that handled by junior associates, including research, drafting, and client-related projects. Assignments are designed to provide meaningful exposure to the practice.

Summer associates participate in formal training programs, practice group sessions, and informal mentoring. The focus is on developing practical skills and understanding the day-to-day practice of labor and employment law.

The program includes a mix of professional development sessions and social events designed to help you get to know our lawyers and culture. Events vary by office.
