The new law requires, among other things, an employer to provide a signed, written copy of the terms of the noncompetition agreement to an employee within 30 days after the employee’s employment is terminated. Stephen encourages employers to review their existing noncompetition agreements and develop a strategy for existing and new employees to ensure compliance with the new law, which takes effect on Jan. 1, 2020.
