Can An Employee Be Worked To Death?

Publication

3.04.14

A commentary article by Rich Meneghello entitled “Can An Employee Be Worked To Death?” was featured on the nydailyrecord.com and the Oregon Daily Journal of Commerce.

Rich wrote, You’ve probably heard phrases that exaggerate a difficult situation at work: “You’re killing me over here” or “This job will be the death of me” or “I’m heading for an early grave with the work you’re piling on me” or “You’re working me to death.” But what if these phrases aren’t intended as exaggerations, but actual accusations? Is it possible for an employer to work an employee to death? A pending case in Ohio is putting this theory to the test.
