
Overview
Lori Guner is a partner in the Phoenix office. Lori represents employers in a variety of employment matters, litigation in both state and federal courts in Arizona. She is experienced in advising clients on employment issues, defending employers in litigation, and drafting employment, independent contractor, and restrictive covenant agreements. Lori also has experience defending clients in connection with Department of Labor audits, class and collective action litigation, complex civil litigation matters, administrative hearings, trials, and appeals. Lori focuses her practice on claims related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, restrictive covenants, wage and hour, and independent contractor issues. Lori represents employers in all industries, and with a background in construction law, she focuses a large portion of her practice on the construction industry.
Lori earned her J.D. from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2014, where she served as Senior Research and Development Editor of the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law. During law school, Lori clerked at Miller, Pitt, Feldman & McAnally in Tucson. She also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Sally Schneider Duncan in the Maricopa County Superior Court, and as a Student Intern for the Southern Arizona Legal Aid Mortgage Clinic.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, Lori worked at Lang Thal King & Hanson (formerly Lang & Klain), where she practiced commercial litigation and construction law. At Lang Thal King and Hanson, Lori advised contractors on employment and independent contractor-related issues and gained significant litigation and construction law experience.
Lori is also fluent in Turkish and highly proficient in Spanish.
