Steve Bernstein was quoted in the Tampa Bay Business Journal article “‘Weinstein Moment’ Harassment Spotlight Playing Out at Tampa Bay Businesses.” The article discussed how despite the media attention around sexual harassment and predators, most smaller-to-midsized employers remain more reactive than proactive when it comes to policies and reporting procedures.

If the recent phenomenon shines a weak spot in compliance strategies, that’s positive, said Steve.

“If [a case] morphs into litigation over allegations that are years old, that’s not good for the business community,” he said, given the time and resources it takes to defend allegations that are old, and could have been addressed “if they had known at the time.”

“The supervisory team is first line of exposure and defense depending on how you prepare them,” Steve added.
