In efforts to stop perpetuating the gender pay gap, many cities and states have banned the job interview question inquiring about the applicants previous salary. In the article, "Some States Are Banning the 'Salary' Question in Job Interviews," AOL credits Fisher Phillips for insight on states that may be implementing these policies. 

"Illinois, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York state, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont are considering similar measures", according to law firm Fisher Phillips.
