The article “NLRB's Email Ruling Stands Out From Year-End Flurry” discussed how lawyers are citing the NLRB's ruling that employees can use work email for labor-law-protected purposes as among its most significant year-end moves, saying it will not only help organizing efforts but also force employers to stomach criticism voiced through their own email systems.

Steve was quoted on his take of union organizing.

“Union organizing is one small sphere within a larger series of concentric circles that make up Section 7," said Steven. "It certainly protects organizing, but it doesn't stop there."

The classic example of Section 7-protected conduct that's separate from union organizing is an employee gripe, Steven said.
