The article, “NLRB Rules that Grad Students Are Employees, Opens Door to Unionization,” featured in the Chicago Tribune, examined the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) recent ruling that grad students who work as teaching and research assistants at private universities are employees covered by federal labor laws, a major decision that opens the door for graduate students across the country to unionize.
