Law360 Turns to Fisher Phillips for Insight on Philadelphia’s Salary History Ban
A first-of-its-kind ruling from the Third Circuit cleared the way for Philadelphia to begin enforcing its ban on employers inquiring about salary histories of job candidates. In an interview with Law360, Samantha Bononno, partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office, explained that “this is going to result in some significant changes for employers. Employers will have to retrain their HR team so that whoever is doing your frontline interviews knows what they can and can't ask.” She added that there would have to be changes to online and physical application forms that employers use with job candidates.
