In articles that explain the impact of the midterm election results on employers and general counsel, The National Law Journal and Corporate Counsel citied analysis by attorneys Rich Meneghello and Ben Ebbink. They explained that with its new-found muscle, a Democratic-dominate House might seek to curtail the recent rash of Supreme Court rulings that empowered employers, such as sanctioning arbitration and right-to-work laws. However, with the Republicans firmly in control of the Senate, the most likely change employers will see is a moderate increase to the minimum wage or greater discussion around paid family leave legislation.
