Employee Defection and Trade Secrets Co-Chair on the Importance of Strong Non-Disclosure Agreements

In a recent interview with Asia IP, Chris Stief, co-chair of the firm’s Employee Defection and Trade Secrets practice group, provides insight on a rather unusual legal case involving Kanye West. The case alleges West breached a non-disclosure agreement by a firm that was tapped to create video technology to help sell his Yeezy apparel. Stief explains that alleged trade secret theft being committed by celebrities out in the open is not very common. Whether the allegations stand is yet to be seen, but he says the case demonstrates the importance of having good agreements in place and up front.
