Cleveland Lawyer Talks to SHRM About the Predicted Influx of Work-from-Home Requests
As employers reopen their worksites they are likely to get an influx of telecommuting requests from employees. In an interview with SHRM, partner Jeffrey Smith discussed the importance of employers having a remote-work policy in place to help them follow consistent criteria when deciding whether to grant the requests. He notes “[t]hose policies should be instituted or modified to include transition plans that are consistent with state orders permitting employers to reopen.” The article goes on to describe other important factors that employers might consider when fielding the predicted onslaught of post-pandemic work-from-home requests.
