Business Optimistic on Trump
The article, “Business Optimistic on Trump,” featured in Sun Sentinel, discussed how South Florida business leaders are expressing cautious optimism that Donald Trump’s election will further bolster the healthy economy they’ve enjoyed since recovering from the Great Recession.
Charles Caulkins weighed in on immigration and work visas under the Trump administration.
Charles said he’s already fielding inquiries about the immigration process and enforcement.
“There’s going to be a lot more aggressive enforcement of the I-9 process,” he said, referring to the employment eligibility form to verify authorization to work in the country.
Local farmers are concerned about being able to bring in the seasonal workers they need under stricter enforcement, said Charles, who heads the Broward Workshop, an organization of chief decision makers.
