This session will discuss the common ways employees abuse FMLA and offer strategies for how employers can effectively curb those abuses. It will review Monday/Friday absences, recurrent and/or chronic illnesses, intermittent leave, medical certifications and re-certifications, second opinions, transfers to alternative positions, call-in procedures, and fraud investigation. It will focus on practical tips and suggestions for employers on how to best modify and proactively enforce their FMLA policies.
