2023 Breakfast Briefing: How Not to Spend Time with a Lawyer

Event

University of West Florida
Fort Walton Beach Campus
1170 Martin Luther King1 Jr. Blvd., Bldg 1
Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547

3.08.23
8:00 AM — 10:00 AM CDT

How can a manager possibly understand and avoid the hundreds of laws at play in the workplace and avoid every litigious trap? The truth is they can't. In better news, there are a few key areas that lead to a disproportionate share of claims. Understanding and avoiding these can significantly reduce the likelihood of an employee suing your company.

This session will explore those most problematic areas in employment law and discuss how to navigate them from avoiding accusations of harassment to mishandling an employee's medical condition. Attendees will learn both proactive approaches to eliminating risks as well as when they should seek further guidance before acting.

The firm is submitting this program for HRCI and SHRM credit.
