Overview

Omeed Askari is an associate in the firm’s San Diego office. As a former business owner, Omeed Askari brings a unique perspective to the employment law challenges clients face. Drawing on over a decade of experience owning and operating a compounding pharmacy in Southern California, Omeed advises health care industry employers on workplace practices and policies and defends against claims involving workplace discrimination,
wrongful termination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.

In addition to representing clients in the U.S. health care industry, Omeed also represents a wide variety of U.S. companies operating abroad as well as foreign companies who are looking to expand into the U.S. market. With a background in international relations and security policy, Omeed brings a global perspective to his employment law practice. As a key member of the firm’s international practice group, he advises U.S. and foreign clients across various industries—including sports, education, technology, manufacturing, and marketing—on cross-border employment issues, compliance strategies, and workforce management. With a focus on analyzing and
minimizing the risks of international remote working arrangements, his interdisciplinary approach helps clients navigate complex international legal landscapes with clarity and confidence.

Omeed earned his J.D. with a concentration in Health Law and Policy from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where he was a Legal Education Opportunities Program scholar. During his time in law school, he served as vice president of the Iranian Law Students Association, received two CALI Awards for Excellence, and was a member of UCLSF's Pro Bono Society. Through this society, he earned the California Lawyers Association's Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services, completing 168 pro bono hours with the UCLSF Medical-Legal Partnership for Seniors legal clinic. Additionally, he was an active participant in UCLSF's esteemed Moot Court program as a competitor, coach, and board member.
