Overview

LaKisha M. Kinsey-Sallis is a partner in the Tampa office of Fisher Phillips.  Over the course of LaKisha’s 20-year career, she has represented employers of various sizes and across diverse sectors.  LaKisha’s proficiency spans a broad spectrum including litigating collective and class actions involving wage claims as well as defending claims arising under federal and/or state discrimination, leave and retaliation laws.  She also has vast experience providing comprehensive, day-to-day advice and counseling on all sorts of workplace matters and devising preventive strategies to mitigate risk and limit legal expense.  A people-person and connector by nature, LaKisha prides herself on partnering with legal operations, business owners, and HR professionals in tackling the simple to complex issues that employers face.  She has appeared before and handled matters pending in federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies such as the DOL, EEOC, and DOAH.

A great firm steward and community member, LaKisha sits on the firm’s Women’s Initiative and Leadership Committee, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and supports the firm’s community service, pro bono, and mentorship initiatives.  Outside of the firm, LaKisha serves on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce where she serves as its General Counsel, the Board of the Friends of Riverwalk, and the Leadership Tampa Alumni Cabinet.  She is the past Chair of the Chamber’s Women of Influence Committee and currently sits on the Executive Board of her Sorority’s (Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.) local Chapter.

When not wearing her lawyer hat, LaKisha is a travel enthusiast and baseball fanatic (for her two sons that is).

LaKisha was most recently honored in Florida Trend’s Notables: Labor and Employment Lawyers.
