Overview
La Rita Turner represents employers in various labor and employment matters, including whistleblower retaliation, Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), wage and hour claims, including class actions and representative claims, in state and federal courts. La Rita handles all aspects of litigation, from drafting motions, attending hearings, defending and taking depositions, to preparing written discovery and jury trials.
In addition, La Rita counsels employers on labor and employment compliance issues to prevent litigation from arising including leaves of absence, performance issues, employee handbooks, personnel policies, and employee discipline.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, La Rita was an associate for a full-service employment and labor relations law firm in Los Angeles where she advised public entities on employee discipline and termination, severance agreements, leaves of absence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, investigations, and FLSA, among other things.
