Overview
Janelle Nunez defends and advises employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including single plaintiff matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims in both state and federal courts, as well as before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and other administrative agencies. Janelle also counsels employers on labor management relations, grievance and arbitration matters, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements. She frequently reviews and revises employee handbooks and workplace policies to ensure compliance with the National Labor Relations Act and other applicable labor and employment laws, helping employers align their policies with both legal and practical workplace realities.
A long-time San Franciscan, Janelle brings local insight and a practical perspective shaped by her experience as an HR coordinator prior to entering law school. While in law school, she served as President of the Employment and Labor Law Student Association and earned multiple awards for oral advocacy as a member of the number one moot court team in the nation at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Janelle currently serves on the board of the University of San Francisco’s Women in Leadership and Philanthropy program and is passionate about management-side labor and employment advocacy, helping employers navigate complex workplace challenges with confidence.
