
Overview
David Shannon is an associate in the firm’s Nashville office where he focuses on litigating a wide range of labor and employment matters. David is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the U.S. private sector (CIPP/US). David supports large and small employers in all types of employment-related actions, including breach of contract, wage and hour laws, whistleblower, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, defamation, Private Attorneys’ General Act (PAGA), class actions, and other employment law-related matters.
David counsels clients through compliance with the growing number of consumer privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). David prepares notices, privacy policies, and website terms of use. David defends clients in class action and other litigation matters related to privacy, including the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA).
David helps employers in trade secret and defection matters, including obtaining temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions against former employees to halt the unauthorized use and disclosure of confidential information. David has also sought actions to enforce restrictive covenants against former employees, as well as assist clients in the implementation of restrictive covenants.
Prior to joining Fisher Phillips, David represented clients in civil litigation cases, including commercial real estate, tort, bankruptcy, and contract disputes for a boutique commercial litigation practice in California. During law school, he was an Honors Moot Court Internal Semi-Finalist, an Honors Moot Court Internal Advocacy Chair, and a member of the Santa Clara Law Review.
