The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ H-1B visa program permits United States employers to hire foreign professionals in the U.S. for up to six years, and in certain circumstances, sometimes longer. This program is an invaluable means for employers seeking to complement their U.S. workforces with key foreign talent. Unfortunately, the demand for visas far exceeds the annual quota of approximately 85,000. The odds of being selected in the H-1B cap lottery have decreased over the past few years as the number of applicants continues to increase, while the number of available H-1B visas has remained constant.
