In an interview with Forbes, Travis Vance discusses Doug Parker’s confirmation as head of OSHA. “Observing Parker’s previous employment with Cal-OSHA, he will likely lead federal OSHA in a similar fashion, including more aggressive and robust enforcement,” Travis says. Travis adds that Parker will be tasked with implementing many of the changes Biden has pledged in expanding worker rights. “Employers should prepare for these more aggressive policies by ensuring that their safety and health programs are compliant with rules that, while not enforced during the Trump administration, are still in place and govern American workplaces. Employers should work to identify and eliminate workplace safety hazards.”
