The California Supreme Court has made it more difficult for employers to classify workers as independent contractors. The Court’s decision in Dynamex outlined a new “ABC” test to determine whether contractors are properly classified as such.  This presentation will explain the new test and also highlight the liability that can result from improperly classifying employees as contractors, including wage and hour liability, unemployment and withholding tax audits, as well as civil penalties.
