Wage and Hour Headaches in the Manufacturing Industry

When a longstanding wage and hour practice is challenged by the Department of Labor or in a lawsuit, manufacturers can face time-consuming and costly headaches. Prioritizing compliance with common wage and hour practices in the industry can save time and money and lead to a more positive workplace, better communications, and increased employee retention. 

 This webinar will review some recently reported DOL recoveries in the manufacturing industry to highlight areas where even the best-intentioned employers might find wage and hour trouble. We will cover donning and doffing of protective equipment, the rounding of work time, the use of an auto-deduct meal break, calculation of regular rate of pay, and the use of independent contractors. Real-life case studies will highlight the areas on which the DOL focuses when reviewing manufacturers’ wage and hour practices.
