The article, “Uber Drivers Welcome that $100-million Settlement, but Here's What They're Still Missing,” featured in the Los Angeles Times, discussed how Uber’s recent $100 million settlement, may have just bought the gig economy a whole new set of legal battles.

Since the settlement doesn't actually decide the case, the proper classification of Uber drivers as independent contractors or employees remains up in the air. This leaves a lot of questions, according to Todd Scherwin.

"Most other companies in the gig economy were hoping Uber would fight this thing all the way, win it, and give everyone peace of mind," Todd said. "So this leaves a lot of unsettled questions. Someone eventually is going to have to fight it and get a court ruling on it."
