'Tis the season! Employers across South Florida are gearing up for their annual holiday parties. These events are traditionally a great way to unwind and to thank employees for their hard work throughout the year.
In the article, Lisa provides employers with a few good practices for creating a problem free company party.
- Do not serve alcohol.
- Host a catered lunch at your office during your normal hours.
- Use a ticket system to limit the number of drinks employees are given, or offer a cash bar.
- Offer a variety of appetizers with cocktails followed by a full dinner to ensure that guests have something to fill up on other than alcohol.
- Hire a professional bartender to keep track of the alcohol consumption.
- Avoid calling your party a Christmas party or gearing your decorations toward a particular religion.
- Arrange for free taxi rides home for employees who feel they should not drive.
