In an interview with Law360, John Skousen discusses the factors employers should consider when evaluating payment in piece rate wages over hourly wages. "First and foremost, we need to remember that incentive plans are very, very good," John said. "It gives [workers] more power over their compensation [and] allows them to thrive in many cases, and in many cases make wages far above the minimum wage." John adds that employers should be mindful of whether employees qualify for paid breaks or overtime.
