In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Todd Scherwin provides perspective on Albert Pujols' service contract and what it means for the Angels and Cardinals. He explains that, from a legal standpoint, the definition of a personal-services contract is any agreement for somebody to perform services for an employer or an organization for a period of time. "You want to be able to say, for lack of better terms, 'You’re mine, you can’t do any work for any other competitor,'" Todd added. He also notes that amendments can always be made as long as both sides agree to any changes.
