Sheila Willis Receives USC’s 2019 Compleat Lawyer Award

COLUMBIA (April 17, 2019) – Sheila Willis, an associate in the Columbia office of Fisher Phillips, has been named as a University of South Carolina School of Law 2019 Compleat Lawyer award recipient. She is one of nine honorees to receive the award.
The Compleat Lawyer Awards were established in 1992 by the USC School of Law Alumni Council to recognize alumni for outstanding civic and professional accomplishments. Recipients have made significant contributions to the legal profession and exemplify the highest standards of professional competence, ethics, and integrity.
At Fisher Phillips, Sheila represents employers in a variety of labor and employment matters, frequently advising clients regarding hiring, discipline, investigations, and other related issues. She handles matters related to employment discrimination, wage and hour litigation, unemployment proceedings, as well as providing training for supervisors and managers on harassment, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance, the Family Medical Leave Act and many other areas. Sheila also serves as Immediate Past-President of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association and President-Elect of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers’ Division.
Additionally, Sheila has previously served as the state-wide chair of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers’ Division’s Cinderella Project, a group that provides gently worn prom dresses for students in the Midlands area. She is also active in the Richland County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Junior League of Columbia.
Sheila earned her Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of South Carolina.
