San Francisco Chronicle Interviews Fisher Phillips Partner on DOL’s Independent Contractor Proposal

In a recent interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, John Polson explains the DOL’s proposed rule that would make it easier for workers to be classified as independent contractors. The federal guidelines look at two factors: a worker’s control over their work and a worker’s control over their earnings. John tells the Chronicle, “If the worker controls those key aspects of their job and has some control over how much money they make, then they are independent contractors.” He also explains that a new presidential administration could start new rule-making on the independent contractor issue.
