Rick Grimaldi Appointed to Pennsylvania’s State Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council

Rick Grimaldi, a partner in Fisher Phillips’ Philadelphia office, has been appointed to Pennsylvania’s State Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council. Rick is one of four “employer representatives” recommended by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and appointed to the council by Governor Tom Wolf.
In his role, Rick will work with The Secretary of Labor & Industry and 18 other members to review policies and make recommendations related to the state’s unemployment compensation program for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, the Governor’s office, and the General Assembly.
Rick has a rich history of serving the citizens of Pennsylvania. He was previously the Deputy General Counsel to Governor Tom Ridge and Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. At Fisher Phillips, Rick has a robust labor relations practice and works with companies to help them adapt to the ever-changing business environment, achieve their workplace goals, and become better employers. His practical approach to solving workplace challenges with his clients is a natural outgrowth of his experience in public service and in private practice leading an employee relations team as Director of Labor Relations for a large international technology company.
Rick is also the author of FLEX: A Leader’s Guide to Staying Nimble and Mastering Transformative Change in the Workplace. Based on his thirty years of working with employers large and small, Rick’s seminal work provides a blueprint for all employers to successfully navigate the incredible changes occurring in the workplace that impact everything from hiring to terminations and all the issues that occur in between.
