PORTLAND (March 19, 2018) — The Portland Oregon office of Fisher Phillips announced today that partner Richard Meneghello has received two national awards for his exceptional writing in workplace law related topics. The awards include JD Supra’s 2018 Readers' Choice Award — Rich’s second year in a row of winning this award from the organization — and the 2018 Burton Awards Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award.
The JD Supra Reader’s Choice Awards acknowledge top authors and firms for their thought leadership in key topics. The nominated articles were read by C-suite executives, in-house counsel, media, and other professionals across the JD Supra platform during 2017. This is the second straight year Rich has been named as a top author by JD Supra due to the high level of visibility and engagement he attained with readers on the subject of employer liability issues.
Rich has also been recognized as one of the nation’s top law writers of 2018 by the Burton Awards for an article he co-authored with colleague Katherine P. Sandberg, The Die Hard Survival Guide to This Year's Office Holiday Party. The Burton Awards are a non-profit program run in association with the Library of Congress. The winners of this award were chosen from nominations submitted by the nation’s top 1,000 largest law firms. The Academic Board, which reviewed articles published within the past year, was led by Virginia Wise, Chair, formerly of Harvard Law School; Jeanne Merino, Stanford Law School; Lindsay Saffouri, UC Berkeley School of Law, William C. Burton, author and founder of the event; Judge Edward Forstenzer, Superior Court of California (retired); and William Ryan, member of the Department of Homeland Security and former Chair of the White House Plain Language Committee.
“It’s great to be recognized for doing something I love to do,” said Rich. “Legal developments occur every day, many of which can be hard to decipher, so I know that employers benefit from reading articles that clearly articulate what the developments mean for their workplace.”
The attorneys from Fisher Phillips regularly posts legal alerts, web articles, newsletter features, and blog posts for a variety of workplace law topics. This content is regularly used as a resource for media coverage.
