Regional Managing Partner in Mexico Discusses Collective Contracts

In an interview with Reforma, Germán de la Garza De Vecchi shares his insights on the number of active collective contracts in Mexico. After the deadline for validation through the workers' vote, less than 10% of the inventory that was proposed five years ago survived. Germán explains that the streamlining of contracts not only led to the presentation of labor complaints under the USMCA framework, changes in organizations and union leaders, and more complex collective negotiations, but it could also represent "the possibility of a greater demand for contract ownership, either by new or old unions."
