Phillip Bauknight Honored as “New Leader of the Bar” by The New Jersey Law Journal

NEW JERSEY (June 3, 2020) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, is pleased to announce that Phillip Bauknight has been selected for inclusion in the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2020 Professional Excellence Awards. Specifically, he was honored as a “New Leader of the Bar” for his demonstrated legal talent and dedication to the industry. “New Leaders of the Bar” are characterized as building impressive careers for themselves, serving their clients, and leading the legal profession in New Jersey. Honorees have made his or her mark on the profession, and show promise for much, much more.
At Fisher Phillips, Phillip is an active member of the firm’s Workplace Safety and Catastrophe Management practice where he provides practical guidance to help employers develop and maintain effective workplace safety and health management programs. In addition to implementing prevention strategies, he helps employers respond to Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspections. Phillip also counsels employers on day-to-day workplace issues, including hiring and termination procedures, employee discipline, performance management, discrimination, retaliation and disability accommodations.
In addition to his legal work, Phillip is an active member in both his professional and personal communities. He is an Executive Committee Member of the National Black Lawyers, where he has been selected to their Top 40 Under 40 list for six consecutive years. Phillip is also a former Trustee on the West Orange Scholarship Fund.
Phillip earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and his B.A. from Rutgers University.
