The strike is generally focused on health care facilities in the Kaiser Permanente chain, and is largely in California, but Kevin told Newsradio 1200 WOAI that the lull in the Ebola outbreak is a great time for health care companies in Texas and everywhere to sit down with their patents and discuss the precautions that are being taken to protect them from the disease.

 "They should be explaining to their nursing staff and other people with patient contact, what they have done and what they will continue to do to safeguard them from the threat of transmission of Ebola," Kevin said.

Kevin said it is critical for all health care facilities, from doctors offices to small neighborhood clinics, to major hospitals, to have a plan in place for dealing with the possibility of the appearance of an Ebola patient, and to make sure the nurses and all staffers know what those procedures are.

"It is okay for the employer to say, we have trained you, you have expressed your concern, this is what we have done to address those concerns, and this is why you really shouldn't be worried about Ebola," he said.
