According to the article, The National Labor Relations Board heard the first salvos in what could be a protracted fight by Northwestern University football players to organize a union.
Representatives for NU football players, who have filed a petition with the NLRB to form a union, argued their case before the board in its Chicago regional office. Northwestern University also made its case to NLRB executives about why the University believes there are no grounds for a players union, according to the article.
As the testimony played out before the NLRB in Chicago, Paul said in an interview he is not optimistic the football players will prevail in their fight to unionize.
