The article “NLRB Sacks Northwestern Football Players’ Unionizing Drive” examined the National Labor Relations Board's recent ruling that turned away a push by Northwestern University football players to unionize in a closely watched case that could have reshaped American collegiate sports by essentially classifying athletes more as employees than students.

Steve said the labor board indicated “that the NCAA was charged with managing the relationships between these institutions, and that even exerting jurisdiction on these facts would threaten to undermine the delicate balance among them.”
