In an interview with Newsday, Seth Kaufman shares insight on employer responsibilities when it comes to distributing postings and notices electronically to remote workers. Federally mandated postings are required to be physically placed in high-traffic areas like break rooms, but with many employees now working off-site, remote workers still need to have access to them. However, Seth explains that electronic-only postings are an acceptable substitute when: all of the employer’s employees exclusively work remotely; all employees customarily receive information from the employer via electronic means, and all employees have readily available access to the electronic posting at all times. He advises employers to maintain physical postings in the workplace.
